The Tuacahn Summer Theatre Institute musical has not yet been chosen. However, auditions will be held here on the Tuacahn campus on February 6, 7, 2009 and also on February 27, 28, 2009 at the Scera Theatre in Orem, Utah.
All summer camps involve tuition but because this 7-week experience is part of Tuacahn's regular season, you will be cast in a major musical and tickets are offered to the public. This allows us to keep tuition minimal in comparison to most camps around the country. Local resident campers pay $345.00 and non-residents (we house you for 7 weeks) pay $545.00. Some scholarships are available.
More information will be posted later, but please feel free to look through last years audition packet and start preparing now! Three letters of recommendation are required every year as part of the audition process as well as the usual audition song and comic monologue. You will also be required to participate in a dance audition.
Thanks for your interest!!! Please check back for future updates!"
Audition Information for the Tuacahn High School Summer Theatre Institute
The Tuacahn Summer Theatre Institute was started in 2005 under the Educational Outreach program at Tuacahn Center for the Arts. It is designed to transition students aged 14 – 19 to the professional world of theatre. It is not a camp. It is not summer stock. It is both! Students will study the art of Musical Theatre both in workshops and by rehearsing (3 weeks of rehearsal and training, 8 – 12 hours a day) and performing (28 shows!) a grand Broadway musical.
